Stomp The Yard (Movie)

After the death of his brother, street dancer DJ pursue his studies by attending Truth University. He met a girl he likes and is out to woo her. But his ultimate aim is to help his team win the national step show competition.

Yea, that's it. The idea of this movie wasn't original, I've watched something similar (You Got Served). Don't expect a good storyline from both movies but the dancing is what you should be looking out for. I prefer the dance in You Got Served, more street style kind of dance. In Stomp The Yard, the focus is more on step dancing.

I'm impressed by the guy in blue, watch video to understand why:

This is street dancing. For step dancing, watch the next videos.

This video is the opponent's dance in the final competition:

And for DJ's team, here it is:

There's a final match but I'm not going to upload the video here. Interested to watch? Go and watch the movie.

I give Stomp The Yard 5.3 upon 10.

Iron Chefs
Left office earlier today to collect some free gifts. Here's what me & Thomas got:

Lucky? Not entirely, shall explain further next time.

Since its still early, we decided to try the recipes my mum taught me. They are all my favourite dishes. We made a mess out of the whole kitchen but the results was satisfying.

Sweet & Sour Fish (This is supposed to be Vinegar Fish but turned out it tasted more like Sweet & Sour Fish. Still, it tasted wonderful. Shall improve on the appearance next time.)

Beancurd & Beansprout (This is the second time we cooked this dish, not as good as the first time. Maybe its because we didn't add in prawns but the taste was still acceptable)

Chicken Soup (This soup that we made tasted exactly like my mum's, very very nice. Just that its abit oily, I think we should remove the chicken skin.)

All of the above are successful dishes. The next one is a total failure.

Steamed Egg With Minced Meat (The first attempt was bad, there wasn't any taste so we decided to give the white dog downstairs our failed product. Before animal lovers reprimand me, I shall explain why I did that. It was tasteless, not salty at all so I thought that its all right to give the food to a dog. And moreover, if I were to throw it away, isn't it a waste? The second attempt wasn't that good either so to conclude, I flunked terribly in the dish I had most confidence in.)

This is the white doggie I mentioned earlier on:

Although I failed in one of the dish but the overall result was quite good and we are both glad. Things that I need to improve on:
1.) The appearance of the dishes
2.) Cleanliness & tidiness
3.) Minimizing wastage

Infernal Affairs I, II & III (Movie)

Infernal Affairs is one of the few good HK movie about cops & secret society.

The whole film is basically about the twisted and complicated lives of Ming (Andy Lau), Yan (Tony Leung), Sam (Eric Tsang) and Wong (Anthony Wong).

Ming is a cop who secretly works for triad boss Sam. Yan, on the other hand, is a triad member who secretly reports to Superintendent Wong. The two is on a dangerous race to tracking down on each other when both Sam & Wong found out that there's a mole planted next to them.

Part 1 is about the present and eventually till Yan's death. Part 2 touches on the main characters background and explained what happened in the past. Part 3 shows a mixture of the past and present as well as what happened after Yan's death.

Personally, I enjoyed Part 1 the most. Part 3 is trying abit too hard to be profound. Brilliant acting skills from the main characters. Touching and it shows you the different perspective of human mind. I pity Ming as he has lost himself in his own ambition. He decided to turn over a new leaf, but everything didn't turn out as he planned. The plot of the film isn't original, there's plenty of movies out there showing the same kind of story but the way Infernal Affairs is filmed makes it stand out from other HK movies. It shows a subject in a different manner.

I give Infernal Affairs 7.3 upon 10.

P.S. Anyone can explain the last scene of Part 3 to me? Why is Carina Lau behind Andy Lau at one moment and the next second, she dissappeared. From my own analysis, I noticed that Sammi Cheng's attire sort of stands out from the surrounding, like as if she is of a different world from Andy Lau. Does it mean that in actual fact, Andy Lau is already dead and Sammi Cheng is there to pay him respect. I dunno, maybe I think too much ><

Happy Birthday To Linda!
Today is my colleague, Linda's birthday. Wasn't aware of it until Sam asked Sim to buy a cake for celebration. Abit of favouritism over there, he never bought cake for any of us before. I'm not jealous or unhappy. In fact, I wished Linda Happy Birthday very sincerely. I...just don't like Sam so whatever he does, I tend to pin point. OK, enough of the bastard.

So during lunch, I accompanied Sim to a confectionery downstairs. The cakes all look cheapo but we don't have a choice. In the end, I chose a coffee cake. While packing, the auntie accidentally smudge the side of the cake. And she actually pushed the blame to the baker for adding too much cream to the side. The worst part is, instead of changing a new one for us, she asked the baker to touch up the spoilt portion. If the cake is for my own consumption, I would have told her off but...since that's not the case, I don't see any reason for me to lose my cool.

Only managed to snap a few photos.

The last minute cake. I refrain myself from all temptations and only ate 1 of the cherry.

Linda blowing the candles

Striking a pose

Sim cutting the cake for Linda. At first, she didn't want to take any photo cos she's worried that she might appear fat but I assured her I can make her look slimmer and I succeeded:)

Another woman whom didn't want to take photo

An unexpected guest

Finally, me & the birthday girl.

Slimming Fomula
Have been putting on weight lately. Main reason: due to work as I tend to eat more especially at night when under stress. Of course, this is just an excuse for my laziness and poor self control.

Throughout my life, I have tried so many different methods to lose weight.

Method 1: Slimming centre (No-Effect Method)
I shall not mention which slimming centre I patronized but I can assure you that its very famous locally. The programme lasted around 1 week ( can't remember the details very well cos this happened so many years ago).

Everyday, I have to go to the centre and they will stick circular pieces of dunno-what around my body, after which they will send mild electric currents to these circular pieces which in turn will have ant bites effect on my body.

After that, a cream will be applied to my whole body and then I will be wrapped in layers of plastic foils.

Lastly, I will be asked to lie down in an equipment and heat will be generated to burn my fats.
I'm not supposed to eat during this period of time, the only food I can take is a syrup provided by the slimming centre. This is what they call detoxification.

At the end of the whole programme, I only lost 1 kg and this 1 kg came back to me in less then 2 weeks, despite my constant effort to maintain my weight. I assume that the weight lost is because of my diet. Imagine, drinking only the syrup and eating nothing else, obviously I will lose weight. If this is the reason, I might as well DIY at home, drinking honey syrup everyday.
The worst part is that this whole package cost more then 1k! Scam, nothing but a S-C-A-M.
Maybe my body is not as responsive compared to other people but again, achieving no effect is too much for me to swallow any excuses provided by the slimming centre.

Method 2: Exercise - Jogging
This is the least effective method I have ever tried. Every morning I would wake up earlier and jog 2.5m. My diet is slightly healthier. I did this for a few months and I only lost around 2 kg. And now that I look back, I come to a conclusion that jogging is not a very effective method to slim down. Aerobics is better.

Method 3: Low-Carbo Diet
I ate anything but carbo (rice, noodles, bread...). Quite effective but the results are slower then the next method.

Method 4: Exercise alot & eat little
There was a period of time after I graduate from Poly, where I was jobless for quite long. So, everyday I exercised at least 2 hours and on top of that, I ate like a rabbit. My daily activities involved hoola hoop and some aerobics. And my diet consisted mainly of sausages, vege, milo, fruits with occasional treats. In a mere 1 month period, I lost close to 8 kg.

2 years ago, I tried something similar but not as drastic. Everyday, I exercise for 1 hour and ate lesser. Results wasn't too bad, lost around 4 to 5 kg in 2 months.

Method 5: Duromine
A kind of slimming pill prescribe by doctors. VERY effective. This pill has to be taken early in the morning or else you will have problem sleeping at night. It makes one hyperactive and not feel like eating so naturally, losing weight is easy.

But there are side effects, you tend to be bad temper or moody after taking the pill. And as mentioned earlier on, one might have difficulty sleeping at night. It is not advisable to take Duromine longer then a month as prolonged usage might lead to heart failure or other complications.
In short, its like legal ecstasy.

So, what I can say is that...to look good, just eating lesser doesn't help much. You need to exercise. I know it isn't easy to find time for exercise but maybe you can just try my method - hoola hoop. I highly recommend it cos its something easy and quite relaxing compared to other kinda exercise. Or alternatively, choose an exercise that you enjoy. Only when you enjoy, then can you stick to it for long.

Many ladies, including me, wants to lose weight fast so we go for the extreme methods but be careful, the weight rebound very fast. End up you might be fatter then you originally were. When I say this, I'm sure lots of you would think to yourself that you want to achieve the result quickly and maintain from there BUT...trust me, only minority can maintain their figure well after losing weight by the extreme methods.

A once every month detoxification routine is a must. Losing weight is easier only after you remove the toxins from your body. Choose 3 days monthly and during these 3 days, eat nothing except for some fruits. Drink plenty of water. An occasional milo or honey syrup is allowed. After the 3 days, resume your diet but eat moderately and not gorge yourself just because you have not been eating a proper meal for so many days.

NO late dinner or supper. Eating late is the major culprit to those fats building up in our body.
NO sweet or soft drinks. Drink plain water or tea (without sugar) instead.
By quitting supper and sweet drinks, you are half way to success already. But of course, occasional treats in moderate servings are allowed.

Cut down on carbo. And if possible, no carbo for dinner.

DO NOT skip breakfast, this is the most important meal of the day.

After every meal (especially heavy ones), try to stand or walk around for at least half an hour so that you won't develop a fat tummy.

While sitting or standing for long period of time, try to suck in your tummy, squeeze your thighs tightly and lift your butts. This is recommended especially for those whom have no time to exercise.

Fruits are fattening as well because of the high sugar content so do not take plenty of fruits thinking that it is not fattening at all.

Last but not least, be positive. Love yourself. Everyone is beautiful in their own way. Losing weight is not just about looking good and being confident solely, its about being healthy as well. Therefore, do not use drastic methods to slim down unless for absolute necessary reasons.

Pre-Lantern Festival Celebration
There's a pre-lantern festival celebration at Belle's school today and all students' parents are invited. I'm not a traditional kinda person and the only festival I like is X'mas but still, I went, for Belle's sake.

My mum asked me to go early, to booked the seats...Although unwilling, I still did what she told me to, so as not to get a scolding. So, I sat there for 40 minutes attentively, in fear that the seats might be taken away. I know, its unglam but...what to do. After my mum came, she did even more unglam things, which I shall not spill out in cyberspace. I went because of Belle but she wasn't sitting with us throughout the whole thing, she was running around playing, looking for friends and whatever. I guess kids are like this when they grow up.

I told Belle to buy a drink for me at the canteen, normally it costs 50 cents but they actually jacked up the price to $1 and the cup is filled with ice so strictly speaking, I bought half a cup of drink at $1.

The performances:
Chinese Drum & Orchestra (didn't manage to take any photos)

Chinese Dance

Choir

WuShu (The best performance of the night, apparently, they have been topping several competition across the island)

GuZhen (didn't manage to take photos as well)

Rope Skipping

Here's some other photos I took:

Gosh, my skin looks bad and I appear haggard. Got to do something about it before its too late!

Expected Goodbye

After much anticipation, Chelsea's manager Jose Mourinho finally resigned. Last year, there had been several news that Jose Mourinho wasn't on good terms with boss Roman Abramovich and that he might be leaving the club. This became reality since yesterday.

I have been admiring Jose Mourinho ever since he became manager of Chelsea. He's smart, confident, charismatic and of course...good looking. And come to think about it, almost all my idols are matured men...Johnny Depp, Adolf Hitler, Jose Mourinho, except for Elizabeth Montgomery. All of them are matured, charismatic and talented in their own way. Oh well, back to Jose Mourinho, he is seriously a very good manager. Chelsea, with his guidance, had performed so well that they were winner in almost every match they participated and he even led Chelsea to their first English Premiership title in 50 years. No doubt he is arrogant at times, I call it confidence (ya ya, I'm blinded), but he deserves to be so but it would definitely be better that he isn't so high profile all the time.

However lately, Chelsea isn't performing as well anymore. I wonder if its because their luck is going away. Because Jose is leaving which causes the team to perform badly or is it vice verse???

Most people support the teams but for me, I support the manager. And now that Jose has announced that he will be leaving England, I guess it very hard for me to catch him on TV anymore. I just pray the best for him and that he will have a wonderful career with great prospect.

Blow (Movie)
A movie based on a true story, Blow talks about the life of a major drug dealer in the United States during the 1970s and early 80s. George Jung grew up in a poor family and he was determined to not lead this kind of lifestyle anymore. Together with his best friend Tuna, they started dealing marijuana and he was a big hit in California in the 1960's. However, he soon found himself in jail for drug trafficking. Instead of turning over a new leaf, George learned more about drug dealing and cocaine in jail. Upon his release, George make big money out of this lucrative but illegal business. Eventually he got married to Mirtha and they had a baby girl Kristina Sunshine Jung. Facing betrayal, conviction and finally a 60 years jail term, George Jung learned his lesson the hard way.

I love this movie. Behind the humorous and touching scenes, this film shares an important message that serves as a reminder for all druggies out there. Johnny Depp was brilliant. He's my favourite actor and Blow once again, shows how good an actor Johnny Depp is.

I give Blow 8 upon 10.

Full Course Dinner
Me & Thomas are totally crazy about cooking. Although we are beginners with no guidance, but we are determined to learn more culinary skills. As I'm on leave tomorrow, we decided to cook dinner tonight. Apart from the usual soup:

and luncheon meat:

This is our new product of success:

Looks good? I thought so too:)

So...there you go, our full course dinner including chicken (at the far bottom right corner) which I don't intend to show a close shot cos it looks VERY ugly and didn't taste very well too.

This is our first attempt whipping up a full course dinner. I will study more recipes to make out next attempt an even more interesting one.

Friday Meeting
ULS is back from his KL trip today and as I mentioned in my entry on Tuesday (11th Sept), he wants to have a discussion with me. At first, I thought that he is going to give me hell but surprisingly, I was downright wrong. He was so nice to me that I'm abit worried, dunno what he's up to. We didn't have any private discussion but we had a group meeting with other colleagues. I forgotten how or why, but we brought up our misunderstanding infront of everyone. The air was cleared and he apologised but he mentioned that I shouldn't be so emotional all the time. The bastard CCD said that I'm just a young girl who needs to learn more in life and that ULS is actually a very nice boss so I should learn to appreciate. Whatever it is, nothing they say is going to change my mind about leaving after I get my bonus. Even if they are truly such "nice" people, I wouldn't want to continue staying cos I don't see a good future in this company. I seriously should sit down and think about what I wanna do in order to excel in my career path and stop being such a lazy pig.

Deception Point by Dan Brown (Book)
Completed all books written by Dan Brown. Deception Point was abit more confusing for me compared to the other Dan Brown's books I read. I think the main reason is because of the subject touched on - Science & Politics. But nevertheless, I still enjoyed this book very much.

With Nasa's discovery of a meteorite containing possible extraterrestrial life, the President sends a team of civilian scientists and experts to verify the authenticity of the find. Among this team is Intelligence analyst Rachel Sexton and a famous oceanographer Michael Tolland whom are about to uncover evidence of a plot so shocking and deadly.

But before Rachel and Michael were able to share their findings, they were attacked by a mysterious team of assassins. The effect of their findings will involve the U.S. space policy and the presidential election. But the most shocking truth is the identity of the mastermind...

Personally, I enjoyed all the books written by Dan Brown. My favourite is Da Vinci Code followed by Angels & Demons then Digital Fortress and finally Deception Point. There have been many unfavourable comments on Dan Brown because of the controversial contents of his works. But for me, leaving aside the accuracy of the facts stated, I read them as fictional books. Who cares about how true the information is, if that is what you want, you should be reading non-fiction books. I think Dan Brown is a genius whom did serious research before publishing anything.

I give Deception Point 8.5 upon 10.

Joke Of The Day
My anger and resentment towards ULS has built up over the days and this morning when I stepped into office, my anger was once again triggered by an incident that I do not wish to mention here. On the verge of bursting, I messaged Thomas about my issue with ULS. After 15 minutes, there wasn't any reply. Finding it a bit wierd (as Thomas always replies my message very quickly), I scrolled through my outbox only to realize that I ACTUALLY SENT THE MESSAGE TO ULS! Unable to control myself, I started laughing and went hysterical. This was the message content:
"I am very very very angry with ULS. Everyday sure got something for me to get angry over. I really buay tahan."

But surprisingly, I wasn't worried at all. In fact, I'm kinda glad, at least ULS get to know what I'm thinking about. Then later on, ULS called me and he said:
"I received a SMS earlier on..."

Before he can finish his sentence, I interrupted:
"Oh!!THAT message, HaHa, I was actually sending it to my bf but accidentally sent it to you instead, sorry hur"

Then, he laughed it off.

After that, towards the end of the day, he sent me a sms:
"Please let me know what is the problem with our communication. You can write to me. I only hope for a teamwork. Not problem."

What bullshit. I have seen enough, heard enough and experienced enough. Nothing more to say. I just do my job and you do yours, don't see a need to communicate. Whatever that needs to be said has been said. I'm tired of going through the same old thing over and over again. He said that he wants to have a discussion with me this Friday. I'm not sure what it is about, shall update again then.

Fur (Movie)
Watched "Fur" yesterday night. As usual, I would normally do some research before and after I watch a movie. For this movie, I'm glad I did some homework or else I would not have understood what exactly the show is about.

The parts I understand:
This movie is about a well known photographer Diane Arbus whose work is famous for the controversial subjects, FULL STOP.

The parts that I understand only after research (all quotes taken from IMDB):
The title "Fur" refers to her parents, as well as being a metaphor as embodied by a fictional, fur-covered character, Lionel. The obvious question is asked by a HUGE metaphor - what's better between a man covered with fur and snobbish people wearing fur?The metaphor also refers to the "secrets" which is a running theme throughout the film, i.e., what is hidden beneath the fur?

Robert downey jr's character (Lionel) was a way of giving the viewer a look at diane's creative mind, nothing more he did not portray a true to life person but a metaphor for what the imagination can do, and her willingness to explore the unknown. this film was about diane's artistic discovery and independence as an artist.

Some of Diane Arbus's works:
Child with Toy Hand Grenade in Central Park, New York City (1962)

Identical Twins, Roselle, New Jersey, 1967

Retired man and his wife at home in a nudist camp one morning, Diane Arbus (NJ, 1963)

The reason why I wanted to watch this film so much is because of my interest in the famous photographer. But after watching, I realize that this film is partly fiction. The way this film is presented is rather interesting, colors are very pretty and the acting is superb. BUT I find "Fur" a wierd and slow paced film. If I'm watching this movie in the middle of the night, I would most probably fall asleep. I give "Fur" 5.5 upon 10. As this is an Art film and people tend to have "something" about art films. By giving such low rating, I expect some individuals to point finger at me, commenting that I'm a no taste, unappreciative moron. I can only say that everyone have different views and perspectives, what you find good might not appeal to me and vice versa. I have watched art films and enjoyed a couple of them, but not "Fur". I rate based on my own preference, so...NO bad remarks just because I don't like what you enjoy. "Each to his own"

Eragon by Christopher Paolini (Book & Movie)

Finished reading Eragon a week ago and watched the movie yesterday.

Outline: Eragon, an orphan, was raised by his uncle - Garrow. Leading a life of poverty, Eragon never dreamt that his destiny would soon be changed by a stone he found while hunting. The stone is no ordinery stone, its in fact a dragon's egg. Right after it hatched, Eragon found himself in danger of being tracked down by the evil king - Galbatorix and, the shade- Durza. With the help of his dragon - Saphira, a storyteller - Brom, and a new friend - Murtagh, Eragon embarks on a journey to avenge the death of his loved ones and to eliminate the evil power.

This is the first book of a trilogy, I'm still looking for the second book "Eldest".
"Eragon" is somehow like LOTR, but more reader friendly. Drawn into the magical world of rider and dragon, its a book you won't want to put down once you start. I give this book 8 upon 10, high rating because of the talented 15 year old writer - Christoper Paolini.

Now, I shall proceed to the movie. Plot is very much similar but its more of a disappointment. The producer's attempt to squeeze a 500 pages book into a 90 minutes movie failed. Many important and crucial details were not mentioned and some major characters played insignificant roles in the movie. Graphic is ok and the dragon is the only highlight of the movie. I give this movie 5.5 upon 10.

Suntec City Trip
Today is a Saturday & I promised to bring Belle out. We decided to go Suntec as there is a fair - Games Convention Asia 2007. Along the way to Suntec City, we saw many people carrying the box from Donut Factory and we thought that since its still early, we shall buy some for ourselves. The queue is not too bad, unlike the one at Raffles City. Thomas's brother, Alex, used to patronize the Raffles City Donut Factory and he had to queue 3 hours before its his turn.

This was the queue infront of us

Snapping pics while queuing up

Finally...after 20 minutes, we walked away with a dozen of donuts

Look at the number of staffs in the kitchen & counter.
No wonder the long queue was cleared so quickly.

The flavours we bought:

Savouring the moment...

Before proceeding to the fair, we had our lunch at Food Republic. The hokkien mee is a MUST TRY. The prawns are very fresh and the noodles...simply irresistible.

Taken while we were on our way up to the convention hall:

And there we are..Games Convention Asia 2007...

Counter strike competition:

Whenever anyone approaches this guy to take a photo, he will strike different poses. Very responsive.

Belle with the War Craft characters

Thomas trying out Nintendo Wii

The portable game system section

A band performing, they were quite good, especially the lady lead singer whom Thomas thought sounded like Gwen Stefani.

Thomas teaching Belle how to play a XBox 360 racing game

Apparently, Belle wasn't very good at it.

Thomas taking over

PC game section

Last but not least, PS3.

The fair wasn't as good as I thought it would be. All the major consoles were there but the games available wasn't very comprehensive. I didn't get to see my favourite Tomb Raider character - Lara Croft. The reason of Tomb Raider Anniversary absence may be due to the fact that the game was out for a couple of months already and its not such a big title compared to War Craft, Ghost Recon, etc... Moreover, action adventure games are always not a big hit. RPG, Real Time Strategy, Racing, Shooter, are most of the time, more popular. Hopefully, I'll see more action adventure games next year.

Dilemma
I dread the feeling of having to visit my mum lately. Although I used to dislike going back home but now I HATE it.

My parents are currently having cold war, no doubt they used to always quarrel and fight over everything but now, they don't even talk to each other. My mum suspects that my dad is having an affair...It's not impossible but I would say its highly unlikely. My father is already approaching 70 years old and he comes home straight away after work, he couldn't possibly have done such things. My mum's source of information are all from those nosey housewifes, how accurate can such gossips be??

My sis's point of view is that she doesn't want to judge what is true and what is not, she just feels that both my dad & mum are already so old, shouldn't they be enjoying life and quit making things difficult for themselves? My parents are always so full of nonsense & we, as children, hate it.

Leaving that aside, I shall now talk about my daughter. When I had my kid, I was still pursuing my studies so in order to continue, I left her with my mum. The usual practise is that Belle stays with my mum & I go back to visit plus bring her out once a week. I appreciate my mum's help but being a wierd person, she sometimes mistreat Belle and is slowly transforming my kid into a wierd person as well. Its hard to describe how bad the situation is but I can assure you, its bad enough to make me tear almost everyday.

My sis advices me to bring Belle back to stay with me but I don't actually have a house of my own. And if I were to bring her back, my parents will be devastated. My mum may be very nasty to Belle & always commented that she rather not look after her, but I know that deep inside, she loves Belle alot. If I were to bring Belle back, my relationship with my mum will be tarnished. In fact, she will hate me to the core.

I supposed I'm a weakling, a person whom has no say over anything and a coward as well. Instead of solving my problem, I run away from it. Maybe it doesn't sound like a big issue to anyone who is browsing through these few paragraphs, but it means the world to me. Facing family, financial and career problem, I am lost. I wish that I can go on and make a difference to my life and my family's life.

Famous Fish Soup @ Bukit Merah Central Food Market
Our director came to have a look at the new office this morning but there is nothing interesting to talk about so I shall fast forward to lunch. Ms. Sim recommended this fish soup at Bukit Merah Central Food Market. The lady boss is VERY fierce, like a tigress.

We ordered fish soup and she practically barked at us: "No fish soup! Only mixed seafood soup!!!"
So we said: "Ok ok, then we want 1 bowl of mixed seafood soup, another bowl with mee sua and the final bowl with porridge."
Staring at us intensely, she barked again: "So many!! You wait, I got alot of things to do first."

So, we have to wait for the tigress to finish her chores before we can place our order.
Even when she delivered the food, there were still plenty of grumbling and cursing from her.

I give zero for her attitude BUT...I give 2 thumbs up for her food. The soup is tasty and I don't feel uncomfortable drinking the soup. You see, I am allergic to certain kind of MSG. Although I do not have medical proof for my allergy but sometimes when I drink certain soups, I will develop an extremely uncomfortable churning feeling in my stomach. The soups that will cause such reactions in me are always very sweet and tasty so I think it must be some kind of MSG that is to be blamed.

Anyway, back to the seafood soup...Lots of ingredients are added and they are are all very fresh. Here's a photo of the store and the soup:

(The old lady in this photo is the lady boss aka tigress)

Go give it a try, guarantee you will love it.

水浒无间道 / Shades Of Truth (Drama)

I have been following this drama series for 1 month and yesterday was the last episode. The plot is not bad, but the part about the characters' past lives is abit..duhz.. You'll understand why after I further explain.

The plot is somehow similar to Internal Affairs. 900 years ago, Wu Song & Lin Chong were as close as brothers and they swore to uphold justice hand in hand. 900 years later, they reincarnated to Xia Song Yi & Lin Zichong. The latter is an ace cop whereas the prior is an undercover cop planted beside an underworld society's boss - Song Bo. During an accident, Xia Song Yi sustained a head injury which lead to him recalling his past life. And he was firm on forcing Lin Zhicong to remember his past life as well. The ending: both found true love and their career excelled. The bad guy was thrown into prison. The underworld society's boss, Song Bo, was thrown into prison as well but he turned into a new leaf and therefore, his wife and daughter forgive him. To put simply, everything ended well.

Lots of twist and turn, you won't know who's the baddie until the end. And like most HK dramas, lots of romance and emotional filling scenes. Julian Chung is very handsome and boyish looking whereas Wang Xi is cool looking and humorous. The female lead actresses are beautiful as well, especially GiGi Lai, whom portrays an entirely different image from her usual characters. I give Shades Of Truth 7.5 upon 10. It would have gotten a better rating if not for the corniness.

Heartwarming Dinner
I reached home to find a pot of delicious looking soup brewing on the stove.
I supposed Thomas prepared this special treat for me because of 2 reasons. First, he had this sudden interest in cookery and second, he wanted to pamper me because I had been feeling really down and tired lately. After bathing, I cooked rice, luncheon meat and fish to complete our homely dinner. The soup is fabulous, its Dang Gui (a kind of chinese herb) soup with pork and mushrooms. It smelled good, it tasted even better, dear...you did a wonderful job:) A preview to our mouth watering meal:

It feels good to be pampered.

Hibernating
I will stop blogging for a couple of days as I'm extremely busy at work lately. Under a state of mental stress and turmoil, I wish I can quit my job. I don't even bother about the bonus, I wish I can leave straight away. Feel so tired and unbalanced. I am so unhappy, maybe I should change my pespective and attitude. I dunno, no time to think about it. Anyway, I will update once I can, do come back to check every now and then. See ya!

A New Start
Went to new office to pack up my stuffs so that operation can be resumed on Monday. There's a free shuttle bus from MRT to my office, simply wonderful. Thomas accompanied me so that with another helping hand, I can finish packing quickly and go home earlier.

Lydia brought her sister (Xenia) & daughter (Yao Yao) to the office for a quick visit. Yao Yao is so cute, very friendly and cheerful. She likes me and my 2 stuff toys. Too bad I forgot to take photos. After Xenia & Yao Yao left, we continued packing. We worked quite fast and this is the end result:

My desk is the furthest in, quite a good spot, just that its colder there and I'm sitting infront of my manager's room. Whatever it is, it cannot be any worse then my previous seating arrangement. Actually we have not finish packing the entire office. Shall post more photos once everything is done.

Anyway, during lunch, me and Thomas went to a famous chicken rice store nearby. The queue was long and the food was good. Thomas prefers the chicken rice at Yishun interchange but I think otherwise. This is the store:

This is a hectic year for me, moved house and moved office but all for a better cause. Before I end off, I want to make a special tribute to Thomas. Thanks dear, for accompanying and helping me today. Love u~
