Stock Take Nightmare
Me, Ms. Sim, Uncle Lam & Sam went to K&N for the annual stock take today. As expected, Sam kept walking around with his phone stuck to his ear throughout the morning. Not only did he not help out, he used the times when he wasn't on the phone to badmouth others. During lunch, he dropped us at a nearby food centre and went off. He said that he would be coming back but the truth is he did not. He left 2 women and 1 old man behind to do all the work. May God bless him.

2 workers were assigned to help us out. The one that I got was so grumpy and not very helpful. Thankfully after lunch, they swapped and I got the nicer one:)

I wonder how Uncle Lam can be so cheerful even after such a tiring day

This is the grumpy guy I mentioned earlier on. But after lunch, he became better and claimed that the reason for his temper was due to hunger. As what Uncle Lam said, a hungry man is an angry man.

Finally, we finished our work for the day and its time to go home. Just look at how glad Ms. Sim was...

I wanted to take a picture of the nicer guy but he had already gone off. Thank goodness I saw him outside so I quickly whipped out my camera and took this candid shot.

The crowd in the train I took back home was terrible. The Indian lady (right in the centre of this picture) was inconsiderate. Initially she was hugging the pole, leaving no room for others to hold on to. But she had to give way when the train became more and more packed.

A dirty, sweaty and tiring day. We will be going back next Monday to complete the leftovers and then there will be lots of preparation to be done for audit. I foresee a busy year end so I might have lesser time to blog. Shall do my best to update as and when I can:)

The End Of My Honeymoon Week
After a honeymoon week, my manager is back to office from his Germany trip. The moment he stepped in, I was given so many tasks to complete (some of which are his job, like quoting customers *@#!!&#?^*!!!).
He even made comments like: "Hmmm...Everytime you give me the information, I will throw the job back to you hor?" *smile*
And if that didn't trigger my anger, his next comment did..."Well, its like that lor. If not, do you want to do my work like reports??" *smile again*

Every month I help him issue quotations, serve customers and yes, I help him generate reports too. These are not supposed to be my job. Instead of being appreciative, he make such sarcastic remarks? Ok, I know...this is common, many people are facing similar problems. Up to a point I start questioning, does it mean to make it to the top, I need to be ruthless or bootlick my boss? Is it not enough to just do my job well?

Later on in the day, we had a group meeting and I brought up the issue about year end stock take. CCD asked how many of us are going to the warehouse and I replied 3.
He exclaimed: "3???! Is that enough???"
And my reply: "Yes, 3 is enough. Even if more of us go, some will just stand around doing nothing so...I don't see a point in bringing more people."

Actually my remark was directed at CCD. He is very lazy, while other people are stock taking, he will walk around, talk on the phone, sit down or just go for tea. He isn't much of a help, the reason why he wants to go for stock take, I presume, is because he can laze around. What a lazy and useless bum.

During lunch, my mum called and complained that my daughter made several 1900 calls. She was afraid that those might be donation calls and the final bill might amount up to hundreds of dollars. She shouted and swore, Belle screamed and cried, and me...I'm super irritated. I mean, is there a need for such extreme reactions? Crying and shouting won't solve the problem. I could just call the telco company and ask them to cancel the charges. There is no way they can force us to make donations unwillingly. Eventually this issue was resolved, thank god. Thomas suggested that we take away this year's Christmas gift so as to punish Belle. Should I do that? Is she really naughty? Shall evaluate this slowly.

Those are the sickening happenings today. Now, for the happy things. Thomas picked me up after work again:) He's so sweet, send me many sweet sweet messages, and bought me a delicious chicken drumstick for my dinner.

Before going back, I bought some cup cakes to bring to office for my colleagues tomorrow.

Pretty? These are from Angelz Cup, to check out their full range, this is their website: http://angelzcup.multiply.com/

Tomorrow is Thursday, and the day after...FRIDAY!!! REJOICE!!!!

P.S. VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: WHILE I'M WRITING THIS ENTRY, THOMAS IS STANDING BEHIND PEEPING. AND HE SAW THE PART ABOUT HIM SUGGESTING TO TAKE AWAY BELLE'S PRESENT. HE INSTANTLY CORRECTED ME SO I NEED TO MAKE A PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT RIGHT NOW THAT HE DID NOT SUGGEST THAT. I MISINTERPRETED HIM. ACCORDING TO HIM, HE MEANT THAT WE SHALL NOT GIVE BELLE HER FIRST OPTION (AN ELECTRIC PIANO), INSTEAD WE SHOULD GIVE HER OTHER PRESENTS (E.G. BOOK).

*whisper* Thomas is so defensive, keke...

Zoom (Movie)

4 kids were chosen to defeat Concussion (in case you can't make out what I mean from the absurd name...Concussion is the bad guy) because of the supernatural power they possessed. Jack Shepard aka Captain Zoom (a former superhero starred by Tim Allen) and Marsha Holloway (starred by Courtney Cox) must work together to train these kids and unleash their full potential so as to prepare them for their mission of saving the world.

Apart from the once in a while humour, this film isn't too great. The story and plot is just full of crap. There isn't any character build up so at the end, you probably won't even remember their names. The bad guy isn't scary nor powerful, and again, he doesn't have any unique characteristics that make you remember him. This movie reminds me very much of The Fantastic Four but a worse and lamer one. After the show ended, I was like "Huh...that's it?!?!" You can watch this movie if you just want to relax, laugh and not to think about it when watching and after watching.

I give Zoom 4 upon 10.

I'm Spoilt
Called Thomas during lunch and he told me that he will be picking me up today. Glad to hear that cos I'm feeling so unwell today. At around 3pm, I felt worse. My menstrual cramp is making me feel terrible. The pain is giving me other problems like headache and body ache. Then I felt cold, the getting sick kind of cold. And to make things worse, Thomas just messaged me that he won't be able to come cos there are some issues at home for him to settle. Now, I feel so disappointed and a little bit angry. Am I spoilt? I think I am. I cannot possibly expect him to come every time. No doubt I'm feeling unwell but he has important things waiting for him to resolve and I should be more independent.

Dear, if you happen to be reading this entry, I need to tell you that you did no wrong. I feel a little bit angry cos...I don't know why also, I guess its just a natural reaction. Maybe the disappointment lead to the anger but don't let that bother you, I don't feel this way anymore while I'm writing this entry. Its just a come fast and go fast reaction so no worries. Love you dear.

The Ultimate Gift (Movie)

Upon the death of his grandfather (Red Stevens starred by James Garner), Jason Stevens (starred by Drew Fuller) was assigned 12 tasks to complete before he could inherit what his grandpa left for him. The 12 tasks which Red Stevens termed as "gifts" were actually devised in a way to qualify and prepare Jason for his final ultimate gift. As Jason struggled to complete each task, he came to realize the importance of love and the happiness it could bring.

This is remarkable film. Nothing fanciful, just a truly touching and meaningful story. No popular casts, but the acting was so sincere and true that they brought tears to my eyes throughout the whole show. This movie taught me or should I say, reminded me of the true meaning of life. As quoted in the official site: "Love is a treasure for which we can never pay. The only way we keep it is to give it away". I strongly urge you to watch this movie and do not forget about the lessons taught. Reflect upon yourself and think of how you can bring happiness to your life and others' lives.

I give The Ultimate Gift 7.5 upon 10.

Now You See Me Moving, And...Now You Don't
Whenever I walked past a pet shop at the interchange, I tend to walk in to take a look at the animals. And always, I would see a parrot outside the shop but i took rather little notice of it until few days ago, it attracted my attention when it started saying hello and other stuffs. Then I noticed that it wasn't chained. The funniest part about this parrot is that when I walked near, it will stop talking and keep very very still. But when I walked away, it started talking again. I experimented this a few times and the result was always the same.

As you can see in this picture, one of the parrot's leg is in the air. Apparently it stopped its movements when I got near. Funny bird and cute too:)

Son Of The Mask (Movie)

Tim Avery, an aspiring cartoonist is a failure in his career until one day, his life is changed when his dog (Otis) finds a magical mask. He is promoted and his wife is pregnant. But little does Tim knows that his little boy (Alvery) has supernatural power which will cause destruction on his once peaceful life. Tim's nightmare is later on transformed into a much bigger problem when Loki (the god of mischief and original owner of the mask) comes back for the mask.

This comedy is actually quite disturbing with the evil looking baby and dog. Some scenes are pretty entertaining and funny but most scenes are too corny. The actors ain't funny at all, especially the lead, he looks lost all the time. I still prefer Jim Carey's version. Despite the various negative factors, the moral of the story about family ties is still something that we must learn.

I give Son Of The Mask 4.5 upon 10.

Tim Burton's Corpse Bride (Movie)

Victoria Everglotare's parents are marrying their daughter to Victor Van Dort as they need financial support from the Van Dorts. From here, there's a series of twist and turn when the wedding rehersal goes wrong which eventually leads to Victor marrying a corpse bride (Emily). As Victor got to know his new bride, he realize how kind she is but he is still in love with Victoria. After Emily had her revenge on her murderer, she is set free. Victor & Victoria are back together and everyone is happy.

Tim Burton & Johnny Depp, once again, work magic and wonders. I like the film for its music, color, humour & story. Death is looked into in a different angle and I'm truly touched by Emily. Even though she hates her murderer but she didn't want to kill him, the reason why he died was because of his own deeds. Even though she loves Victor, she is gracious enough to give him up for his own good.

I give Tim Burton's Corpse Bride 7 upon 10.

Aeon Flux (Movie)

A futuristic film set in 400 years ahead. A massive virus attack has left earth with only one city (Bregna).

Aeon Flux is ordered to kill a political figure and this mission reveals secrets which will shock the world - women of Bregna are unable to conceive and human lifeline is continued through cloning.

Story so-so, the so call shocking secret is not really that shocking. I don't quite like Charlize Theron's performance in this film, she just seems so unnatural but her aerobatic moves are so sleek and graceful. I give Aeon Flux 6 upon 10.

A Day At AMK
Feeling bored and moody, maybe due to the fact that tomorrow is a Monday.

I suggested having steamboat for dinner (our all time favourite). So we bathed, prepared and went out.

A photo taken by Thomas being we went out. He commented that I look like a turtle from Dragonball comics. What do you think?

At the MRT, we saw someone familiar. The first time we saw this person was at Mustafa and subsequently, we kept seeing him near our place. What's so special about this person that attracts our attention so much? Well, see for yourself...

I'm not sure about how you feel, but for myself, I'm puzzled. If this man is a drag queen, why would he grow a beard and keep his hair so short? Don't quite understand but I shall not judge him as its not for me to do so.

The dinner was wonderful, not much people compared to the usual crowd cos it was raining and we were early.

After dinner, we shopped around AMK and then I saw this huge cat with a lion face. The shots I took wasn't really good but that was the best I could do. The cat kept moving around.

After a few attempts, we gave up and proceeded to AMK Hub. Bought a durian pancake from four seasons (outside NTUC).

Everytime I went to AMK Hub, I would see the long queue outside the stall and didn't understand why, but now I do. The crust is crispy and the durian filling is plentiful. But its abit pricey, $1.50 each. Still, its worth a try if you are a durian lover.

Our 3 Years Annivesary
Finally, its here...our 3 years anniversary:)

We knew each other from the net and he never thought that I would agree to be with him cos of my situation then.

On 18th Nov 2004, our love blossomed. It has been a tough journey, there were many times we were on the verge of breaking up and many times we thought that our relationship will not last cos of our situation and several misunderstandings. Even our friends think the same. It was a difficult and down period.

But we did not give up and nothing could stop us cos we love each other very much. After countless hardships, we managed to brave through everything hand in hand, and now, we see the light at the end of the tunnel.

On this special day, I would like to thank my beloved Dear for all he had done for me & my family. I would also like to apologize for my wrongdoings, I will do my best to change myself. I pray to God to let our love last forever and to bless us with everlasting happiness.

The start of a beautiful love

Beowulf (Movie)

Terrorized by the monster Grendel, King Hrothgar seeked a hero to get rid of this powerful creature. The task was eventually entrusted to a mighty warrior - Beowulf. After Grendel was killed, his mother swore to take revenge. Smitten by her beauty and attracted by her promises to make him a powerful king, Beowulf fell into her trap. Indeed he was made the successor of King Hrothgar, but he also inherited the curse of Grendel's mother. After many years, his empire was threatened by a dragon (whom was actually the son of Beowulf and Grendel's mother). Determined to end the curse, Beowulf took the responsibility in destroying the dragon. But is the cycle going to end after Beowulf and the dragon died?

This is a full animation film and the graphical effect is realistic but there will be moments where you feel that you are just watching a cartoon and that might turn you off at some point.
Sound effect and music is influential.
Story and ending is predictable but it teaches us a lesson about lust.
The most exciting parts of the movie are when the monsters (Grendel, his mother and the dragon) appear. I kinda symphatize Grendel and he reminds me of Gollum (the creature in LOTR). The scenes of Angelina Jolie nude, although unreal, are beautiful.

I give Beowulf 7 upon 10. (I supposed Thomas might disagree with this rating, he SLEPT DURING THE SHOW).

A Programme Filled Day
Took leave to attend Belle's performance in school. I arrived earlier then my mum so I waited near the school hall. When Belle came, I was shocked.

I dunno what's wrong with my mum. She has the tendency of bringing Belle for a haircut at the wrong time. If the haircut is nice, I would be more then happy, but look at the results:

Her hair is so short and uneven. I was furious but didn't dare show my emotion infront of the kid. My mum always drive me nuts and there's nothing I can do, sigh...

As usual, the beginning of the concert is always very boring... waiting for everyone to be seated, the principal giving speech, award presentation...I was reading my book throughout the first part. After 1 hour or so, the concert finally started.

I was pretty impressed by the chinese orchestra. They were superb.

Aerobics dance performance

School choir. These angels have beautiful voices.

My girl's performance, chinese dance. She was standing at the last row so couldn't capture a good shot of her.

And the last performance was rope skipping but I didn't take any pics as I am falling asleep already.

Subsequently, we went for the reception. I left earlier to meet Thomas and he had a surprise for me:) I mentioned the day before that I had craving for Ikea's cheese cake and he actually went all the way there this morning to buy me one.

We went SMU to asked about the courses. And to my despair, the do not have part time courses and their entry requirement is quite strict.

Then we proceeded to Mr. Bean for lunch.

Our main course:

Dear's favourite seafood soup:

Just look at the goodies in the soup, yum:

Desert:

After that, we went to watch Beowulf (I shall be blogging about this movie later on).

In the cinema, before the show started:

After the show, we walked to PS and waited there for the buyer of our Ipod shuffles. Once the transaction was completed, we strolled along Orchard Road.

At Paragon:

There was a christmas fair at Paragon and the things sold were so pretty.

This doll was so cute. I picked it up and saw a switch at the bottom so I activated it and the doll started walking around. The platform that the doll was walking on was quite narrow so Thomas had to hold on to it to prevent it from falling over.

Then I saw another doll with the same function and I switched it on again, haha and Thomas had to hold on to it again. Keke..

Before we left, I saw my favourite watch in the display...Tag Heuer Monaco 69. This watch has 2 sides - analog and digital. The price...sky high...it cost S$9450.

Tiring day, yawnz...

Ignorant Me
This is going to be a short entry...

Did any of you realize that the famous Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and The ABC Song are actually of the same melody???

Well, both me & Thomas didn't until we heard a kid singing both songs on a bus few days ago.

Interesting.

Looking Forward!!!

Since Pirates Of The Carribean (At World's End), I have been waiting and waiting for Johnny Depp's next movie.

Finally...Sweeny Todd will be shown here in Feb 2008. Still a few months to go but at least I get to see the trailer.

Johnny Depp has been my favourite actor since years ago. He's talented, smart and charismatic. He's a man full of principle, you can say that he's too stubborn for his own good but his efforts have paid off. Which actor resists commercialised movies, hides his handsome face under piles of ugly make up and still manage to be on Hollywood's A list?

Before I watch Sweeny Todd, I shall not write about it. If you want to know more, pls visit the official website . Highly anticipated as Johnny Depp IS SINGING!!

Fantastic Four Part 1 (Movie)

A scientist (Reed Richards) an astronaut (Ben Grimm), a CEO of a space station (Dr. Victor Von Doom), his chief genetics researcher (Susan Storm) and her brother (Johnny Storm) developed strange and amazing powers after returning from a space venture voyage.

Reed's body became elastic and is able to stretch like rubber. Ben is transformed into a large, rock like creature and possesses super strength. Susan can turn invisible and create force fields. Johnny is able to create fire and fly. Doom is capable of absorbing and attacking with electricity.

Initially Reed, Ben, Susan and Johnny are lost and always quarrelling. But they finally cooperate and work together to stop Doom's evil deeds.

This is a usual superhero kinda movie... scientific experiment went wrong, people turn into super beings with super power, then the bad guy appear with even more powerful abilities and the superheros ultimately destroy the bad guy. So, don't expect much from the story plot.
However, its an entertaining film with above average special effects. Jessica Alba was mesmerizing. I give Fantastic Four (Part 1) 6.8 upon 10.

不能说的秘密 / Secret (Movie)

At first, I was quite skeptical about this movie as I had bad impression towards Jay Chou after watching his poor performance in Initial D. But since he directed, wrote and acted in Secret, I decided to watch it so as to satisfy my curiosity. And I'm glad I did, the reasons to be shared with you later on.

Ye Xiang Lun (Jay Chou), new student of a music school, while exploring the campus on his first day, was attracted by a beautiful melody played by fellow student, Lu Xiao Yu. When being asked by Ye Xiang Lun for the name of the piece she was playing, Lu Xiao Yu responded that it was a secret. The more he tried to find out about this mysterious girl, the more Ye Xiang Lun was attracted to her. Unfortunately, a misunderstanding arose and Lu Xiao Yu went missing after that. Ye Xiang Lun tried looking for her desperately but to no avail. Until the day of graduation, Lu Xiao Yu finally appeared while Ye Xiang Lun was performing on stage. The latter chased after the former but eventually lost sight of her. However, he found out a disturbing truth which he was determined to investigate further.
What's the truth?? Its a secret *grin*. Well, this verse from the film might give you some hint:

"Follow the notes upon a journey
At first sight marks one's destiny
Once the voyage comes to an end
Return lies within hasty keys"

Buy the dvd and watch if you want to know more details.

My views on this movie:

The music was lovely (my favourite scene of the whole film was the piano battle), the picture was beautiful (given the money pumped into this film), the acting was natural and the story was touching. Anthony Wong played his role well, adding a touch of comical effects to the film. Jay Chou, no doubt, is talented (except in acting). This is his first attempt as director and the result was good. I thought that the actress acting as Lu Xiao Yu was great, she was natural and totally immersed in the role.

BUT...

Although the story was romantic and touching, it was an old plot. I seemed to see glimpse of Lake House while watching Secret. The ending wasn't very clear and logical but that's only for the ending, the rest of the movie was well explained. The special effects wasn't very real. Jay's acting, though improved, was still abit stiff.

I give Secret (不能说的秘密) 7.5 upon 10.

KTV Session
Since today is Deepavali, Thomas and I decided to plan something special to do with Belle on this national holiday. At first, we thought of ice skating but its too pricey. Then Thomas came up with a brilliant idea - KTV. The last time I brought Belle to KTV was years ago and she enjoyed it alot. I'm sure she will be delighted this time as she loves singing very much.

Before picking Belle up, we had Bor Chor Mee for breakfast. The queue was SCARY, just look at how long it was:

Thomas queued half an hour for a bowl of noodles, MADNESS!

After picking Belle up, we proceeded to Chinatown. We went to KBox first, it costs $53 for a 4 hour session. Then we went to Party World, the package is much cheaper as they had some kind of promo.

Belle engrossed in singing her oldies

Swaying to the music

Belle doing Beyond's signature hand sign

Candid shot...He tried to avoid being captured on film but the more he tried, the funnier he turned out to be

Gave up playing hide & seek with the camera

I like this picture...Belle looks so pretty

Family potrait?

"Sisters"

We had a fun filled 4 hour KTV session. Me and Thomas reckon that Belle sings very well. After that, we had our dinner at Chang Chen, the famous stall selling porridge.

On our way back home, we walked pass a pasar malam so we stopped to look around.

Kids have strange taste...

While waiting for the train, Thomas asked Belle why she kept tying her hair and commented that she might turn bald if she kept doing it. Suddenly, Belle shouted at him and started to cry. Thomas was quite angry and I'm angrier... I told Belle off, no matter how angry you are, there's no reason for you to blow your top like that. Instead of shouting, you could have just say that you are not happy and demand an apology. Of course, I talked to Thomas as well. I told him Belle is a girl and a vain one so he shouldn't have scare her by saying that she might turn bald. He had been a bit harsh on her throughout the day also, I understand that he was trying to teach her manners but sometimes, we need to know the limits. Good thing Thomas isn't a MCP, he took my advice quite well and he apologized to Belle. And I'm glad Belle realized her mistakes as well, she apologized to him too. Quite a touching moment:

The results was good...Belle was so happy, Thomas too.

Upon reaching home, Belle tried her costume for me to see. She is going to wear it for her dance performance next week in school.

Today's a great day. Apart from all the above, Mum gave me a X'mas tree which she doesn't use anymore. A preview of the tree we decorated:

Pretty, PRETTY, PRETTTTYYYYYY!!! I love X'mas and I'm totally in mood for celebration:)

The Wonders Of Internet
The Iron Chefs (Me & Thomas) decided to cook dinner tonight. I wanted to try some new dishes so I did some research online. After hours of research, I made up my mind on the menu tonight: Three Cup Chicken (San Bei Ji), Old Cucumber Soup, Luncheon Meat and Beansprouts with beancurd & prawns.

The marketing was abit more tedious then usual cos of the ingredients required to make San Bei Ji. Lots of stuffs that we normally do not use, eg. cinnamon, five spice powder, shao xing jiu... And basil, which I did not buy cos it was very expensive! A small packet for $3 plus, daylight robbery!! All the recipes I read mentioned that its a must to add in basil. But given the price, I decided to forgo it.

This time round, we made some improvements. We were tidier, faster and more efficient. My San Bei Ji wasn't too bad but its abit oily so I shall take note on that. I'm not sure how it would taste with Basil, but without it, the dish was ok. As for the old cucumber soup, Thomas felt that its still not good enough but I think otherwise. I love the soups Thomas make, he seems to have some talent in brewing soups.

Enough of words, now the pictures:

As what I mentioned in my title, the wonders of Internet. Learn whatever you want in a matter of minutes, but of course, customise according to personal preferences.

How Do I Live Without You???
Woke up in the middle of the night. The cramp in my stomach was causing me severe pain. Took panadol and went back to sleep.

Thomas offered to send me to work cos he's worried. He even waited till afternoon so that he could accomany me for lunch. How sweet :)

Sometimes I complain that he isn't sensitive enough or he isn't very nice to me. Actually deep inside, I feel that I'm not being fair to him. I have always been skeptical towards him cos of some issues that happened in the past. And I know I shouldn't behave this way.

Thank you, my dear and I love u so much. I will learn to appreciate you more and I pray we will feel this way towards each other forever.
